Talent vs Passion/Hard work: Attribute to success - 1

I have been thinking about this from quote some time that what makes a person successful. Although there are a lot of things to be taken into consideration, talent vs hard work is always debatable and discussed about.

Let me give an example. I find Virat Kohli, Yuvraj
Singh and A B De Villiers as talented cricketers when it comes to hitting the ball or batting in general. They have an aptitude for it, they seem to hit the ball easily and are big hitters.

M S Dhoni can be the one who is hard worker rather than a talented batsmen. Now, he is an overall cricketer, a great strategist but limited talent for being a batsman. Some of you might argue that he can hit a six even on a Yorker and he can hit the ball in styles no other player can. First of all, they are not cricket shots and he has learned such shots in the past, like his noticeable 'helicopter shot'. He developed it from a friend who was a great player while growing up.

I find Magnus Carlsen (Vishwanathan Anand too) a talented chess player but Aronian is a hard working one. Both are well known chess players. If you are not into chess, you might have only heard of Magnus Carlsen and never of Aronian for a fact that Magnus is a world champion and highest rated chess player in the history (and he is just 26 years old).

There are a lot of people who, despite having no or less talent for a certain thing became successful into that particular thing. You just need hard work, passion and belief in it.

I'm a speed cuber and I can solve a Rubik's Cube in 16-18 sec, but I know I don't have an aptitude for it. How do I know? Because it took me literally years to come to this point. If someone has a talent for it, they'll come to 20 sec after learning how to solve a Rubik's Cube in a matter of months.

If you have talent for something, never let it go, because it's a gift you got and not everyone is lucky enough. If you think you don't have a talent, simply follow your passions and interest, you'll get there and if not, may be you were meant to follow your passions, which is not a bad thing (remember M S Dhoni).

At the end hard work matters! :)
